COMMISSION PROCESS

1. Request: The first stage of the process is you commissioning me! Fill out the Commission Request form to give me a basic idea of what you’re looking for in your commission. That way I can reply with the most accurate quote for the price of your commission. I’ll also ask a few follow up questions regarding specifics, as well as request any references for me that you may have. Once we have the basics agreed upon, you’ll receive an invoice from me as well as a project outline and deadline. As soon as the invoice is paid (50% minimum) I can move onto the next part of the process!

2. Sketch: At this point I’ll begin working on the sketch and palette based on the information provided. For basic portrait commissions I’ll create one sketch and a basic palette for your approval. For more complex character sheets you’ll receive multiple sketches and a few alternative palettes.

3. Revisions & Approval: Once completed, I’ll send the sketch and palette to you for your approval. If you’d like any major changes to the overall composition or design, they may only be made during this stage. All commissions receive at least one (1) major edit of the overall design of the piece (e.g. changing the original design to a new character pose/gesture, a new color palette, or changing the overall composition — Something I determine will require me to redraw significant parts of the piece.) I’ll confirm noted changes, make the revisions, then bring it to you for approval. The remainder of your invoice must be paid at this time, so that I can begin the painting process ASAP!

4. Painting: When beginning the painting process I’ll send you an update of when you can expect to hear back from me with progress on your commission. I will provide you at least one (1) e-mail update of noteworthy progress for your approval. During this stage only minor changes may be requested. (e.g. any details I may have missed from your original description, swapping the color of a clothing item, tweaking something to improve accuracy of the illustration - Something I determine will NOT require me to redraw a significant part of the piece.) Once agreed upon, I will move on to polishing the image. No additional revisions may be requested at this point.

5. Polishing & Finalizing: The commission is mostly done at this stage, with all revisions complete. I spend this time going back over the image to double check my work as well as add finishing touches to really give the piece some magic!

Enjoy! The final Artwork will be a high quality PNG file and will be sent to you via email. Once you’ve received the piece I’ll post and tag you on social media! ♥

F.A.Q.

Where do you post your art?
Here on my site (gallery & blog) as well as on some social media:
Twitter - MinieStation
Patreon - Patreon.com/MinieStation
Ko-fi - Ko-fi.com/MinieStation

If you see my art posted anywhere that isn’t listed above, it wasn’t me! If you do happen to see my art reposted elsewhere, please report the post and poster - and of course, please don’t buy from them!

Where can I see examples of commissions you offer?
There are a few basic examples here on my Commission Request page, as well as a larger variety in my Gallery here on the site. I will also post on Twitter offering commissions with my most recent work as examples.

What are the most popular things for people to commission?
The top 3 things people commission from me are Full Color Bust Portraits (e.g. portrait of a loved one, an RPG character, an OC, etc.), Full Body 2 Person/Couples Portraits with Flat Color (e.g. couples, OC collabs, RPG Character and Companion or Familiar), and Character Style Sheets (One character w/ variety of poses/outfits for your OC or RPG Character!)

Where can I see WIPs and sketches?
I’ll post sketchdumps here occasionally in blog posts, as well as random sketches and doodles on my Twitter.
I also post WIPs, BTS, and Sketch Requests on my Patreon!
In the future I’ll post Sketchbook Tour videos on my YouTube and Patreon.

Where can I buy prints of your art?
I’m working on a Society6 & INPRNT, bookmark them and check back soon!
I also have stickers for sale here at MinieStation.com/MinieShop
If you have any prints you’d like to see, I don’t mind taking general requests! ;)

Terms of Service

REQUESTING A COMMISSION
Use my Commission Request Form to send me a general idea of your commission with references and/or descriptions.
(Business Inquiries: Feel free to contact me directly via Email on my Contact Page.)

AGREEMENT
I’ll be able to reply to your request within 24hrs, at which point I’ll ask a few further questions to make sure I have everything I need to begin your commission. This is also the point where you’ll be able to reply with the necessary reference photos you’d like me to use. Once we confirm the terms of your commission, I’ll send you an itemized invoice for your commission and a basic project timeline so you know what to look forward to!

PAYMENT
50% of the invoice is required upfront to confirm your place in my commission queue & enable me to begin work on your commission ASAP! The remaining balance must be paid once approval of the sketch has been confirmed, before I can being painting and finalizing the piece. In the instance that I don’t receive payment, I’ll allow one (1) week for payment or update on your financial status. Payments made up to one (1) month late will be subject to a late fee (5%-15% of invoice subtotal). Payments late beyond one (1) month will result in cancellation of commission and loss of rights to commission and work completed thus far.

TIME FRAME
Currently all commissions can be completed within 2-4wks depending on the complexity of your request. You will be given a project timeline at the beginning of your commission, once we’ve agreed on the terms of the commission and your invoice is paid (50% minimum, non-refundable). You will be kept updated on progress and any instances that might delay completion of the piece.
If you require a deadline sooner than my minimum of 2 weeks, you will be charged a Rush Order fee (See DEADLINES & RUSH ORDERS). If I cannot commit to a deadline request for a specific day I will let you know ASAP and will offer alternatives.

SIZE & RESOLUTION
Unless otherwise specified, the final file you receive will be A4 sized (roughly 2500x3500). If you’re hiring me for a personal commission, this size will likely be the best for you if you’re not sure what size you need.

EDITS & ADDITIONAL FEES
All commissions receive at least one (1) major edit of the overall design of the piece (e.g. changing the original design to a new character pose/gesture, a new color palette, or changing the overall composition — Something I determine will require me to redraw significant parts of the piece.)
Larger/more complex pieces will also receive at least two (2) smaller revisional edits (e.g. any details I may have missed from your original description, swapping the color of a clothing item, tweaking something that isn’t in character for the subject - Something I determine will NOT require me to redraw a significant part of the piece.)
Throughout the commission process you will be prompted for edit of the piece at its current state, and any requests for edit beyond that period will be subject to an additional fee based on the complexity of the requested edit (between 25%-50% of base price of the commission. Anything beyond 50% will be charged as an entirely new commission to avoid complication).

DEADLINES & RUSH ORDERS
Deadlines are not required, but if you don’t have one in mind I will set a basic one for the projected outline. If I cannot guarantee the deadline you request, I will let you know upfront and offer alternative dates that I can guarantee. If you need to have a commission completed by a certain date (including printing & shipping time if necessary), a Rush Order fee may be discussed to prioritize your commission and guarantee your commission be delivered on time! Rush Orders require full payment upfront and complete agreement to terms so that I may start ASAP! (Don’t worry, Rush Orders usually only happen when a commission needs to be finished before my standard turn around (2-4wks depending on complexity of piece), so you likely won’t ever have to worry about this!)
